Hudson Villas is a Permanent Supportive Housing Program of the Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless. The Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless’ mission is to provide a safe, healthy environment for people who are homeless and offer them opportunities and encouragement for achieving self-sufficiency. Hudson Villas supports that mission by providing quality affordable housing for those individuals who have not lived successfully in other housing, and that they will finally have a home to call their own and will never return to homelessness.

The Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless firmly believes that this program is the next step toward eliminating homelessness in Tulsa. The Day Center has created a program that is respectful, culturally attuned, and gives a person who is chronically homeless every opportunity to be successfully housed. Hudson Villas expands on that belief and provides quality, affordable housing for individuals who may have few, if any, alternatives. To reach the goal of this program, Hudson Villas has implemented an array of support services to assist tenants in achieving residential stability.

The goal of Hudson Villas is to create an environment that allows residents to create a sense of real home and to:

  • Avoid returning to homelessness,
  • Build life skills and build self esteem,
  • Expand participation in volunteerism,
  • Increase employment abilities and opportunities,
  • Enhance their financial position and personal well being.

While living in an affordable and supportive environment it is our goal that the residents of Hudson Villas will build and maintain a positive self image and become active participants in their new community.

About the Building

Hudson Villas consists of 60 fully furnished apartments, in which 55 are single occupancy apartments, complete with private bathrooms, closets, and efficiency kitchens. 5 of the 60 rooms are one bedroom style apartments, and will have separate living and bedroom areas. There are two laundry rooms, a computer room and fitness room in the facility. Common living spaces are provided throughout the building and lead to the courtyard area. The courtyard was designed to be a focal point of the building and incorporates features such as a gazebo, fire pit, and fountain as well as outdoor dining areas.

Located in the main area of the building is a full commercial kitchen with dining area that will serve 3 meals per day, a living area, classroom, and conference room. Hudson Villas is a gated community and is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We also have plans for a community garden, in which our residents and members of the community will be able to grow and harvest their own produce.

About Support Services

Hudson Villas has on site support services to assist residents with daily living tasks. Our support services staff is available to assist residents with all aspects of daily living, and to work with residents to achieve self-sufficiency. Some of the services our staff provides are:
